Staff Accountant

​Salary  - $50-60+K DOE + excellent benefits

Successful private equity backed industrial company on the the South side of Houston in Pasadena is seeking a degreed Staff Accountant who is willing to grow and learn in a corporate accounting role.  The team is growing and would like to add a staff level person coming right out of college with a Bachelor degree in Accounting. 

​

The role is hybrid - Works in the office 3 days and at home 2 days, after adequate in office training. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform general accounting duties, such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and working with the team on learning all of the GL functions. 

  • Participate in all of the month end activities and other period end (Quarter, Annual) tasks. 

  • Learn to analyze some of the transactions and help provide data for management reporting. 

  • Work with other accountants on the team to complete required regulatory and some state tax filings.

  • Assist in answering audit requests from external auditors.

  • Collaborate and also work independently on projects as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor degree in Accounting

  • Some familiarity with corporate accounting functions and task with a willingness to learn and grow in knowledge and expertise. 

  • Strong communication skills and professional interpersonal skills are key in this role. 

  • Must have excellent work ethic and commit to maintaining confidentiality related to company financial and operational data.

Senior Accountant​

$95-110K salary + bonus potential and excellent benefits

​

Seeking a strong Senior Accountant for a private equity backed company in the mid-town/Galleria area of Houston. The company is a well-respected industry leader and has a cohesive team and positive office culture. 
Hybrid remote work model.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing general accounting functions of the firm to include journal entries at month end and prepare specified internal financial reporting

  • Responsible for the revenue recognition accounting process.

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and research any outstanding items.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting guidance, rules and regulations.

  • Liaise and provide information to external auditors.

  • Work on and complete special projects as assigned by leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university. 

  • Must have knowledge and experience with US GAAP and preparation of financial statements. 

  • 4-6 years of experience in an industry corporate accounting role and at least 2 years as a Senior Accountant. Coming from a public accounting audit background is a plus. 

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and driven.

  • Excellent communication skills and adept at learning accounting systems and software with proficient expertise in MS Excel.

Senior Accountant

Salary - $90 - 105K plus 15% bonus

Must have a start in public Audit and ability to work onsite in far West Houston for the most part. There will be flexibility for a hybrid schedule with 4 days in office and 1 day from home after being fully integrated and trained with the Corporate Accounting team.

 

The role includes routine accounting, intercompany and financial reporting. The company is a "performers environment" and has very good work life balance outside the month-end and quarter-end closes.
